Robust Process Tree Management
Our six-stage tree risk management framework meets the international standard ISO 31000:2018. As registered users of the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment (QTRA) system we’re able to quantify the risk of significant harm from the failure of a tree in a way that will allow tree managers to balance safety and tree value.
Our process allows us to balance the risk of harm with the benefits incurred from the tree in a way that allows stakeholders to make more informed risk management decisions when it comes to their trees.

Using the Quantified Tree Risk Assessment approach we are able to provide prioritised management options for your tree stock taking into account management priorities, cost of risk control, and tree-related benefits.
Our tree risk assessments help the stakeholder to demonstrate that they’ve managed the risk from falling trees in a reasonable and proportional manner in the event of risk being deemed tolerable or acceptable.
What is Tree Risk Assessment…
What is a tree risk assessment?
Tree risk assessment is the process by which an Arborist will evaluate trees within a designated area and identify targets (that can be harmed by trees) and hazards (that have the potential to do harm). The arborist will then calculate the ability for a hazard to do harm to the target and provide this information in terms of risk. Risk is can be defined as unacceptable, tolerable or broadly acceptable. The findings of this evaluation are recorded in a tree risk assessment.
What is involved in a tree risk assessment?
Our six-stage tree risk management process involves three levels of risk assessment. The first level being a visual assessment of an area to identify any trees that pose an above-average risk. The second level involving a walk around and visual inspection of each specified tree in order to better understand their vitality, anatomy & load, and further explore any defects. At this level the risk of harm can be established or the third level of assessment can be called upon to better understand the land use or tree structure. The findings of these three levels inform our evaluation of risk and help provide answers to controlling any risks that exceed levels considered to be broadly acceptable.
